COMMITMENT
The story of Altmann Casting is also a story of a unique commitment – to the company, to the environment and to the Biel-Seeland region.
Right from the start it was clear to Andreas Altmann that the success of a company cannot just lie in profit-oriented action, for a company has to exist in a broader context.
This commitment already starts within the company itself. Importance is placed on a pleasant, creative working atmosphere. A regular exchange of information among our employees is maintained thanks to meeting places such as the new, inviting cafeteria or the company’s own garden.
The company building itself is exemplary in matters of environmental protection: a geothermal probe, heat pumps (water is heated by the exhaust air from the casting ovens), an air filtration system and a plaster filter press system (unique in the industry) ensure that we use our resources sparingly.
As a trained goldsmith, Andreas Altmann is keen to offer active support to the next generation. That is why Altmann Casting every year is one of the sponsors of the Swiss Goldsmiths’ Championship.
And last but not least, our company is also committed to our region. As a member of the Biel-Seeland Chamber of Commerce (WIBS), we place importance on networking with regional strengths and as a member of the «Association romande des métiers de la bijouterie», we place value on the strengthening of our profession. With our targeted sponsorship of youth in sport we are making a long-term investment, whether this is with the football clubs FC Biel and FC Nidau, the Biel Ice Hockey Club or the Curling Club Touring Biel-Bienne. Andreas Altmann also founded Watch City, an association that represents the interests of the greater watch industry. It promotes both our local identity and the reputation of Biel as a quality brand in the watch industry, far beyond our national borders.
